University of Lahore Student 21-Year-Old Student Regains Consciousness After Suicide Attempt at University of Lahore

Lahore university , 21-year-old female student who attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor of a building at the University of Lahore has regained consciousness and is showing signs of recovery, hospital officials confirmed on Tuesday.

According to Professor Jodet Saleem, Chairman Medical Board at Lahore General Hospital, the D-Pharmacy student, identified as Fatima, is currently under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He informed Professor Farooq Afzal, Principal of Ameer-ud-Din Medical College, that the student’s condition has significantly improved.

Doctors stated that Fatima has been taken off the ventilator and is now breathing on her own with oxygen support. Her vital signs are stable, and her Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score has improved to 14/15, indicating a positive neurological response. She has also regained full consciousness and is able to communicate with her family.

Hospital officials added that the neurosurgical team remains on high alert, and a detailed review regarding a possible spinal surgery will be conducted again on Wednesday.

It is worth noting that two days ago, the 21-year-old student attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor of a private university building in Lahore. She was initially shifted to the university’s hospital in critical condition and was later transferred to Lahore General Hospital for advanced medical care.

The incident has once again raised concerns about student mental health and the need for effective counseling and support systems in educational institutions.
